I’d like to save my editor preferences from MEB 8.6 when upgrading to 9.1. I tried to point my 9.1 instance at my 8.6 workspace but I had some strange things happening and I’d like to start with a clean workspace and copy only my editor preferences into it. Is there an easy way to do this?

If you want to create a new My Eclipse workspace and preserve all your settings, simply copy the .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings directory into your new workspace directory.
You can also export and import settings using File > Export > Preferences > All and then import the preferences.
Let us know if you have any other issues.
