roboMemberWow, this pulse thing is ludicrous. I wanted to install Subclipse so I went to the Add Software. I added the site and selected the Subclipse components. Then on the main dialog it had all these updates that said install, uninstall, update, etc… There appeared to be no way to just download and install only subclipse. I figured these were just some updates to MyEclipse so why not update? 2 HOURS LATER it was still downloading crap. Then it failed. So I started it again this morning. It appears to be downloading EVERYTHING all over again like it doesn’t remember what it already downloaded. Then it failed.
So far I’ve spent 3 HOURS of wasted time with this. I could have downloaded a WHOLE NEW VERSION AS AN INSTALL FASTER!!!!
I’m so frustrated!! This isn’t worth the money anymore.
roboMemberIt just died again on the third attempt. Pulse is “giving up” on me.
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

support-joyMemberrobomon,
Sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. Looks like both the update site and our failover site are down at the same time. If you have subclipse plugin available with you, I would suggest you to copy the plugins/features to the [MyEclipse installation folder]/dropins. (Make sure, you have plugins and features folder under dropins, if not, create these folders and copy the relevant files). Restart ME.
If you don’t have the relevant plugin, please try again.
roboMemberI got the plugin installed but I am so frustrated with Pulse I am probably going to stop using MyEclipse.
Thanks for your help and good luck in the future.
Steve PriorMemberNot to mention that they are so wrapped up with Pulse that they are determined to forget that not all MyEclipse installations are even connected to the Internet. Notice that the current version of MyEclipse is 7.1.1, but only 7.1 is available for download.
Riyad KallaMembersprior,
7.1.1 is going out with updated installers today or tomorrow — they’ve been in QA for the last week, those installers go out to 100s of thousands of people so management makes us QA the heck out of them — that’s why the lag between 7.1.1 going up on the update site (and picked up by the Dashboard) and the updated installers. I’d also point out there is no assumption that all computers are online — Pulse has had some bugs in the past with determining the correct state, yes, but that is not by design and most of those issues have been resolved in the latest release.
robomon,
To your comment, we are tracking it here: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/update-problems-2/#post-296465
