When I run the InstallAnywhere installer for 3.8.3 (or 3.8.1) I get the following error after the extraction phase:

Can’t launch executable
Could not load jvm.dll

Try re-installing the Java VM or change the Java VM used by the application.

I’ve downloaded and installed the 1.4.2_6 jdk but this hasn’t made any differnce (my old jdks are still installed though). How do I get InstallAnywhere to pick up a valid jdk?

Instead of fighting with install anywhere we suggest you grab the manual install, its faster/easier to install once you get the hang of it. (instructions are included inside of the zip file).
