lgundaMemberHi,
We recently migrated from RAD to MyEclipse Blue and I am not able to open web.xml in MyEclipse. The workspace shuts down when I double click on web.xml to open.
Please let us know if there is a fix for it.
Thanks
support-swapnaModeratorlgunda ,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue with MyEclipse.
Can you answer some more questions for me to able to understand it better ?
1) Can you paste your Build Id here from Help > About MyEclipse Blue Edition > Build Id ?
2) How did you install MyEclipse Blue ? Is it through Pulse/All-In-One installer/ Archived Update site ?
3) Is the web.xml part of the project that is migrated from RAD to MyEclipse or is it from a new project in MyEclipse ? Can you create a new web project and check if the issue exists ?
4) Do you see the same issue when working with any other visual editors ?
5) Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. Now right click on web.xml > Open With > MyEclipse Web XML Editor. Paste the contents of the .log file here for me.

We initially downloaded MyEclipse 9.0 trial version from MyEclipse web site and then used MyEclipse Configuration Center to upgrade to 9.1
3) Is the web.xml part of the project that is migrated from RAD to MyEclipse or is it from a new project in MyEclipse ? Can you create a new web project and check if the issue exists ?I tested with both new and migrated web projects and it is the same behavior in both cases. When I double click on web.xml the IDE shuts down.

Not found the same issue with any other editors so far.
5) Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. Now right click on web.xml > Open With > MyEclipse Web XML Editor. Paste the contents of the .log file here for me.[/quote]Please find the attached log file

support-swapnaModeratorlgunda ,
Thank you for the details.
To rule out a corrupt workspace issue, can you try switching to a new workspace, import the project and check if you see the same issue ?Let me know how this works for you.
lgundaMemberHi,
I tried building the new workspace and importing projects but the problem still persist for this application but I noticed that I can open web.xml of other projects. I am not sure what is wrong in this web.xml but with RAD we never had these problems. Thanks

Can you please send us your project for further investigation? If your project is very large, can you copy the project, cut it to down to minimum files which can replicate the issue and send it to us.
lgundaMemberWill sending web.xml file is enough or else let me know what all files and I will upload them
Thanks

support-swapnaModeratorlgunda ,
It would help if you can send us the project as a whole instead of files to track down the issue.
