I’m having the professional subscription and when i try to download the subclipse from the Configuration center, i’m unable to download because its by passing the proxy settings.
I configured the network connection setting as Manual and given my usrname/pwd. And i tried all sorts of combination’s but still no luck.
I posted the question in forum, but no response. below is the msg i posted in the forum

    https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/internet-access-required-for-myeclipse/&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=network+connection+issue

We have given proxy settings as mentioned but we are unable to update any sites under MyECLIPSE 8.6. When we talked to our network guys they said MyEclipse is directly hitting firewall it’s not taking proxy settings.

Is anyone got this issue. I know a lot of users are complaining about proxy settings earlier, but is it still an open issue in Myeclipse

    srid,

Can you answer few questions for me to get to investigate this further?

    1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
    2. Have you setup network connections? From menu options click on Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections. Select *Active Provider*. Add the proxy entries. For e.g if you like to setup socks proxy. Make sure to select the same and click [Edit]. Add the proxy details and turn the Auth to *true*. You need to provide the right user id and password for the proxy.Click [Apply] and [OK].
    3. Do you see any errors logged in the problems tab? Can you copy and paste the same here?
    4. Also ensure that the following sites are allowed through your proxies –
    http://www.myeclipseide.com , http://www.poweredbypulse.com , http://www.genuitec.com.
    5. Set communications Tuning turn on either maximum compatibility/native java network connectivity.

Also attach the screen shot of your Network Connections. You can do it using the ‘pm’ button

Let us know how it works for you.

    srid, ,

Also ensure that the following sites are allowed through your proxies –
    http://www.myeclipseide.com , http://www.poweredbypulse.com , http://www.genuitec.com.

Can you connect to these sites?

If all you need is to install Subclipse then you can download it from the this site :
    http://subclipse.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectProcess;jsessionid=FD44C4F4C4B376C7B2A63D6AB6787FDB?pageID=p4wYuA
Here are the steps to add it as a plugin:

    1. Open the MyEclipse configuration center > Software > Add Site.
    2. Click on Add from Archive File. Point to the downloaded zip file. Once the plugin is added to the Software list, right click on it to add to profile.
    3. Apply changes and restart MyEclipse when prompted.
    4. To verify the plugin, go to Help > About MyEclipse Work Bench > Installation Details > Plugins tab and check for the same.

Let us know how this works for you.
