    Hi,

I just upgraded MyEclipse 7.5 to 9.1. When started from scratch, I first checked out my projects from SVN and pointed the new MyEclipse 9.1 to the workspace populated with the new checkout. After adding the existing projects, MyEclipse 9.1 failed to detect the SVN so the project is still unshared. It is unlike MyEclipse 7.5, which auto detect SVN upon adding the projects and set up all SVN related configurations including adding the repository to the repository browser. Can someone tell me if this is a new bug or I need to set up something for MyEclipse 9.1?

    Thanks
    Gang

Installed SVN plugin, add URL to repository: was able to view repository, but when I used right click on project -> team; all I see is “apply patch”. any help? Upgraded to 9.1, Windows 7

MyEclipse does not offer Subversion functionality itself, so any changes in behavior are the responsibility of the Subversion providers, not ours.

First, there are two Subversion providers – Subversive and Subclipse. Which of these did you install? Also, how did you install these items exactly?

If you switch workspaces and import existing SVN projects into these new workspaces, they may not be shared by default – you can then attempt to share them and the SVN clients should pick up the repository information from the metadata that is in the project.

    Hi, Brian,

Thanks for the reply. I tried both Subclipse and Subversive. Subclipse does not provide 64-bit JavaNL DLL and did not work. So I used Subversive. Here’s the sequence of actions:

    1. Installed Subversive plug-in
    2. Added repository location for the SVN repository
    3. Checked out the projects from SVN server using TortoiseSVN to the empty workspace (only .metatdata exits)
    4. From MyEclipse 9.1, imported the projects.

In the past, MyEclipse 7.5 with Subclipse plug-in will pick up the SVN setting and automatically share the projects. But MyEclipse 9.1 with Subversive does not.

    Gang,

You can switch the SVN interface for Subclipse to the pure Java SVNKit, if the HL interface doesn’t work for your system. Go to Window->Preferences->Team->SVN to change it. Make sure you have installed the SVNKit optional related plugin, in order to use this option.

With this change, I was able to import an SVN project without a problem and it was recognised as an SVN project.

With subversive, like you, I wasn’t able to get the project recognised as an SVN project, automatically. You’d have to report this to the subversive developers, if you want it changed. However, I was able to get it eventually recognized as an SVN project by attempting to share it and canceling the wizard before the last step. In this way, the project appeared as an SVN project.

    Hope this helps.
