To update from a news feed, you will need to connect your app to an RSS service to update the text. Maybe this post will help ge t you started? viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7382
hello,
thank you for ur answer, i am able today to do it with the rss feed, but i would like to udpate some “personalized news” on the app, as : “today we the venue change because of the rain…”.
i think i need to enter the news in a server who feed the code in the app.
but how, and what do i need for it?
thank you
How about creating your own RSS feed for your info? I have never set one up personally but after doing a quick google search it seems pretty straightforward.
You are correct that you will need the info on a server for your app to grab and update. There are a few different ways it could be accomplished, but in the end I think rss would be the best solution for your application.
CodeA provided good basic info. What exactly are you looking to customize in an rss feed.
Here is an old example post that used yahoo’s yql to filter and parse rss stream. I don’t know if the example works these days but the idea is still the same: http://www.genuitec.com/support-genuitec/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1386
