Hello,
I followed this example for changing the image in a widget and it works fine in the test center. I try the example in Chrome and it also works. When I generate the file (either .ipa or .apk) and install it in a smartphone then it does not work.
It seems that the subdirectory with the images is not pulled when compiling the information (considering the size of the generated file) and therefore, images are unknown to the App and I get a broken link.
What do I have to do ??

You might miss to check the checkboxes of these subdirectories and images in the build wizard. Also, you can use the additional files properties if you want to reference them from the / root context of the project as well, note that this would need minor changes of code.
