MccarterMemberHello,
I am a new user of MobiOne simulator. I have a Login page with SSL. On the test site, we are using a self signed certificate. The current problem is that the MobiOne simulator can’t display that page. Does the simulator supports self signed certificate SSL? if support, does it needs any special setting?
Thank you
Mcc
support-octavioMemberHi Mcc,
The simulator runs as a chrome webapp. Certificate acceptance is delegated to chrome to handle. Try opening the sight directly from chrome to see the default behavior. It will probably give you the unsecure page warning. I ran across this resource that might be helpful http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/4396/Accepting+a+self-signed+certificate
rthomassbsMemberLong time user of MobiOne and now using the MobiOne Mobile Web Simulator and having the exact same issue when i try to run from my Local IP address. Even when I try to follow the Google Chrome Certificate Install Mobile Web Simulator STILL DOES NOT display a Self Signed Certificate SSL site running from my local box….
To install the certificate at a trusted certificate with Chrome:
Open a browser to your Virtualization Manager server using https.
When the error occurs, click Proceed Anyway.
In the address bar, click the lock icon to view the site information.
On the Connections tab, click Certificate Information.
On the Details tab, click Copy to File…
Click Next.
Select DER encoded binary X.509 (.CER), and click Next.
Enter a file name. By default Chrome saves the certificate in a hidden file in \Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Applications\…
If you do not want to make hidden files visible, browse to a different location to save the certificate.
Click Next.
Check the location of the certificate, and click Finish.
In Chrome, open Settings > Advanced Settings, and click Manage certificates…
Navigate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
Click Import.
Click Next.
Browse to the certificate you exported, and click Next.
Select Place all certificates in the following store, and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
Click Next, and then click Finish.
When prompted, select Yes.
Close the tab and restart Chrome.
Followed the above steps 4 Times using a self assigned certificate on my local cpu box.
Is there something I’m not doing? Should I try assigning the IP to a temp domain in my host file?
Please advise, MobiOne Web Testing never use to be this complexed.
support-michaelKeymasterI chatted with the dev team about how to setup chrome for self-signed certs. They added this to their queue. It will be a little while to address as we will need to task someone to setup the env to start testing. Will update you as soon as we know more.
rthomassbsMemberThank You!
and,
“Help Me MobiOne-Kenobi You’re My Only Hope!”Probably shouldn’t have said that last line…. but ITS FRIDAY!

Any Progress on this issue yet? Are we close yet?
What do you estimate time of solution or fix?
Still eagerly awaiting a solutions so that we can start using this important feature of MobiOne.Please advise… as we’re wanting to test a number of upcoming projects but cannot, due to this feature of MobiOne not working with Self Signed Certificates like it used to.
Thanks
rthomassbsMemberWe are still looking for help to resolve this “bug” in MobiOne Web Simulator…. which was the whole reason we purchased MobiOne.
My project has hit a snag in progress because of this issue.
Again, please advise as the above Google Chrome SSL suggestions do not work.
Kind Regards,
support-michaelKeymaster>please advise as the above Google Chrome SSL suggestions do not work
You’ve been most patient. The status is we have made a little but not definitive movement researching this. It is in the queue of key dev team member that has been unavailable for the past few weeks, including this week. I expect us to be fully engaged by this time next week. Hopefully sooner if we can free up another dev that understands the bowels of the simulator.
rthomassbsMemberAny Progress with resolving the ssl bug?
We have a number of clients and projects we really want to use and promote MobiOne in our Demos but are unable to until this issue is resolved. As a long time MobiOne user, We continue to wait and hope.
Please keep us updated on the progress and work-a-rounds. As mentioned before… this was never an issue with MobiOne in previous versions we always had very good feedback from the demos performed using MobiOne with simulator that use to support SSL.
Kind regards
support-octavioMemberHi,
We have had some of our key people out on vacation and personal time off. They are back in the investigation is scheduled for this next week.
support-octavioMemberHi rthomassbs,
Apologies for the slow follow up and thank for your patience. Please take a look at this workaround provided by the dev team: http://screencast.com/t/vsG8r8HYY9Q
