I would like to know if there are any WAS 6.0 to download. As our production server is running 6.0 instead of 6.1, I am not sure if there are any compatible issue using 6.1 locally.

I suggest you check it with the Websphere support forums regarding the download versions.They will be the better people to assist you. It is usually advisable to work on the same version of server as the production server.
